Privacy Policy

HairstyleChange ("we", "our", "us") takes your privacy seriously. This policy describes exactly what data we collect, where it goes, and how it is used when you use the HairstyleChange app on iOS or Android.

1. Data We Collect

Device Identifier: A randomly generated anonymous UUID stored on your device. It is used to associate your hairstyle history, subscription status, and advertising performance events. It contains no directly identifying information such as your name or email address.
Photos / Selfies: Images you take with the camera or select from your photo library. These are used exclusively for AI hairstyle visualization (see Section 3 for details on where they are sent).
Purchase Receipts: Apple App Store receipt data or Google Play purchase tokens, used only to verify subscription purchases with the relevant store.
Advertising Attribution: If you install the iOS app after interacting with an Apple Ads campaign, Apple may provide campaign, ad group, keyword, placement, country, and download/redownload identifiers. We associate these identifiers with your anonymous device UUID to measure installs, feature use, and subscription performance. We do not receive Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) through this process.
Generated Images: AI-generated hairstyle result images returned by our image generation service.
AI Hair Coach Messages: Messages you choose to send to the in-app AI Hair Coach, together with the assistant's replies and the selected conversation topic. These messages are stored so you can continue and review the conversation.
App Feedback: If you choose to answer the in-app rating prompt, we store the star rating, your optional comment, platform, app version, and anonymous device UUID so we can identify and improve recurring issues.

We do not collect: your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, or any other personally identifying information.

2. Camera & Photo Library Access

What we access: Your camera (to take a selfie) and your photo library (to select an existing photo). We also save generated result images back to your library if you choose to save them.

Why: The purpose is AI-powered hairstyle visualization. If you choose “Find for me,” AI first selects one suitable hairstyle; the selected hairstyle is then applied to your photo.

We store: Result images are saved in our database.

3. Third-Party Services — Data Flow

When you use Find for me, your photo is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS to OpenAI to select one hairstyle from our allowed catalog. Your photo and the selected hairstyle prompt are then transmitted to fal.ai to generate the visualization. We do not send your anonymous device identifier to either AI provider. 4. Data Storage & Retention

On our servers: Generated result image URLs and your subscription status (keyed by anonymous device ID) are stored for up to 90 days.
Result images: Images are saved in our database.
AI Hair Coach conversations: Messages and replies are stored under your anonymous device ID until you request deletion.
Advertising measurement: Apple Ads attribution and in-app funnel events are stored under your anonymous device ID for up to 24 months so campaign cost and subscription revenue can be compared over time.
App feedback: Ratings and optional comments are stored under your anonymous device ID until you request deletion.
On your device: Your device ID is stored in device storage. Generated images are saved to your photo library only if you tap "Save to Gallery".

5. Subscriptions & Purchases

Payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. We verify the store receipt or purchase token to credit your account. We never receive or handle your payment card information.

Manage an iOS subscription in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Manage an Android subscription in Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.

6. Children's Privacy

HairstyleChange is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data, contact us immediately at support@hairstylechange.com.

7. Your Rights

Deletion: You can request deletion of all data associated with your device ID at any time by emailing support@hairstylechange.com.
Access: You can request a copy of the data we hold about your device ID.

8. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+). Our backend infrastructure uses industry-standard security practices.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
