Privacy Policy

HairstyleChange ("we", "our", "us") takes your privacy seriously. This policy describes exactly what data we collect, where it goes, and how it is used when you use the HairstyleChange iOS app.

1. Data We Collect

Device Identifier: A randomly generated anonymous UUID stored on your device. It is used solely to associate your hairstyle history and subscription status. It contains no personal information and cannot be linked back to you.
Photos / Selfies: Images you take with the camera or select from your photo library. These are used exclusively for AI hairstyle visualization (see Section 3 for details on where they are sent).
Purchase Receipts: Apple App Store transaction receipts, used only to verify subscription purchases with Apple's servers.
Generated Images: AI-generated hairstyle result images returned by our image generation service.

We do not collect: your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, or any other personally identifying information.

2. Camera & Photo Library Access

What we access: Your camera (to take a selfie) and your photo library (to select an existing photo). We also save generated result images back to your library if you choose to save them.

Why: The sole purpose is AI-powered hairstyle visualization — we apply a selected hairstyle to your photo using AI.

We never: store your original photos on our servers permanently, upload photos without your explicit action, or access any photos other than the one you select.

3. Third-Party Services — Data Flow

The following table shows exactly where your data travels:

Your photo is transmitted to fal.ai over an encrypted HTTPS connection solely for the purpose of generating the hairstyle visualization. fal.ai processes images in real time for inference and does not retain them for training without explicit opt-in. For details, see fal.ai's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage & Retention

On our servers: Generated result image URLs and your subscription status (keyed by anonymous device ID) are stored for up to 90 days.
Original photos: Not stored on our servers. They are sent directly to fal.ai for processing and the original is not retained.
On your device: Your device ID is stored in device storage. Generated images are saved to your photo library only if you tap "Save to Gallery".

5. Subscriptions & Purchases

All payments are processed by Apple. We receive a transaction receipt and verify it with Apple's servers to credit your account. We never handle your payment card information directly.

Subscription management (cancellation, renewal, refunds) is handled through Apple. Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone to manage your subscription.

6. Children's Privacy

HairstyleChange is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data, contact us immediately at support@hairstylechange.com.

7. Your Rights

Deletion: You can request deletion of all data associated with your device ID at any time by emailing support@hairstylechange.com.
Access: You can request a copy of the data we hold about your device ID.

8. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+). Our backend infrastructure uses industry-standard security practices.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
